Materials used for Circle Voting in Portland May 15, 2022

This is the email I sent to FeyDirt -the Radical Faerie listgroup after out meeting on Saturday, May 15, 2022

As promised, I’m sending you the results from our meeting Saturday afternoon at Triumph.   We based our discussion on a sheet I prepared with a summary of media endorsements by office.    I focused on the Portland area.  There are other races in Portland but they aren't contested enough for the media to make endorsements so we didn't put any energy into them.

There were about 10 Faeries that participated but the numbers fluctuated with 5 to 7 present at any one time.   We voted to endorse the candidates for the statewide offices, but then only did a hand count when there was more than one candidate put forward by either the endorsements or one of our circle.

When we voted, I put the results below, e.g.  (F-4)  means that 4 Faeries voted for this candidate.   Not everyone wanted to be counted.

Below is a list of the races we covered. In addition to the number of Faeries (F-x) these endorsements are listed:

WW – Willamette Weekly  OL – Oregon Live  PT – Portland Tribune

The candidate in the first position, is the one most of us preferred.

CIRCLE VOTING AT FAERIE COFFEE THIS SATURDAY 1 PM

hypnodadny@...

05/12/22   #1120

The deadline for voting in the Oregon Primary is this Tuesday at 8pm.s
If you haven't voted, this meeting will make it real easy.  If you have voted, you can help others with your information and opinions.

Circle Voting is way to draw upon the wisdom in our community in voting.

We’ll meet at 1PM at Triumph Cafe (201 SE 12th ave  ) this Saturday May 14th
Bring your ballot.  If you have already voted, join the discussion and the group vote..
This is a chance to help others and in a sense, multiply your vote.

For each of the contested Democratic races and ballot measures in the Oregon Primary, our group will:
          share our opinions and information

allow those with ballots to mark them in private

Take a hand vote and record the preference of the entire group  as a recommendation for others.

After the event, I’ll post the breakdown on each race  here for those of you that couldn’t make it to Coffee  to use as a reference in marking your own ballot.

My site, www.circlevoting.com was made for the 2020 election but it describes the importance of drawing on our circles  in more depth.

Questions?   Email me at circlemurray@...  or talk to me earlier at Faerie Coffee.
